In this article, we&#8217;ve put together a guide to the most common expressions you&#8217;ll hear in Korea.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>6 Korean phrases used at convenience stores<\/h2>\n<h3>1. Annyeonghaseyo vs. eoseo-oseyo<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Obviously, the first thing you&#8217;ll need to do upon entering a convenience store is to <\/span><b>say hello<\/b>. One of the Korean phrases used in convenience stores is indeed a<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0good old <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">annyeonghaseyo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\uc548\ub155\ud558\uc138\uc694<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) comes in handy. It&#8217;s an expression that is widely used in various contexts, not just in convenience stores.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>3. Bongtu pilyohaseyo?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have bought a few things, the staff might ask you if you need a <\/span><b>bag<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, using the expression <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bongtu pilyohaseyo?<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ubd09\ud22c<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ud544\uc694\ud558\uc138\uc694<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">?). You may need it to double-check your expenses back home or to claim some kind of refund. However, if you don&#8217;t need it, waste is directly avoided.
