The <\/span><b>transport network<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong> is excellent<\/strong>. There are subways, buses and trains. Taking the train is the best choice to reach other cities in Korea. Daegu&#8217;s location is rather strategic. Despite not being located in the central part of Korea, it is still well connected to all the main cities. Living in Daegu can therefore be an <\/span><b>excellent base<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0to visit the rest of Korea. For example, it is only about an hour and a half from Busan by train, and only about two and a half hours from Seoul.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For <\/span><b>nature lovers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, there is no shortage of green areas. In fact, there are <strong>many parks<\/strong> within the city, some of the very large ones even have ponds. Just on the outskirts, there are also many mountains, where it is possible to go trekking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here too, as in most Korean cities, you can witness <\/span><b>a fusion of tradition and modernity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. If you like <\/span><b>shopping<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, there are plenty of dedicated areas. You can go to Seomun (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\uc11c\ubb38\uc2dc\uc7a5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and Gyeodong (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\uad50\ub3d9\uc2dc\uc7a5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) markets, or to Dongseong-ro, which is a street full of shops and malls. Other big shopping malls in different areas of the city are the Lotte Outlets Esiapolis located in Dong-gu, which is a district in the northeast of the city, and the Color Square, near the stadium in Suseong-gu, a district in the east.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you prefer <strong>cultural activities<\/strong>, you can visit the various museums in Daegu. These include the <a href=\"https:\/\/daegu.museum.go.kr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Daegu National Museum<\/strong><\/a>, which displays mainly archaeological finds, the Daegu Art Museum, dedicated to contemporary art, and the Daegu National Science Museum. If you are particularly interested in <strong>fashion<\/strong> and its history, we also recommend the DTC Textile Museum, Korea&#8217;s only textile museum, since Daegu is the main hub of the textile industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for leisure activities, you can have fun in the various <\/span><b><i>karaoke<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">noraebang<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ub178\ub798\ubc29<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Korean karaoke) and relax in the many <\/span><b>coffee shops<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We particularly recommend <\/span><b>Apsan Caf\u00e9 Street<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where you can find many special coffee shops. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also in this area, we recommend paying a visit to the <strong>Daedeok-sa Temple<\/strong> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ub300\ub355\uc0ac<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) located inside the Apsan Park (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\uc55e\uc0b0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\uacf5\uc6d0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). It houses a museum on the Korean-Japanese War and it is where you can take a cable car to the top of Mount Apsan. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alternatively, if you are an avid <strong>hiker<\/strong>, you can reach the summit on foot. <\/span><b>Trekking<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ub4f1\uc0b0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) is a very common activity in Korea, as Korea is a very <a href=\"https:\/\/gogohanguk.com\/en\/blog\/hiking-in-south-korea\/\">mountainous country<\/a>, and there is no shortage of places to do this in Daegu. The less adventurous can still get out into nature by walking in various parks or along the Geumho River, west of the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a day of fun, you can go to <strong>Daegu E-World<\/strong>, an amusement park in the city centre built around the Woobang Tower, the almost &#8216;twin&#8217; tower of Seoul&#8217;s Namsan Tower.
