Here we find the sofa (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc18c\ud30c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sofa<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), the television (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ud154\ub808\ube44\uc804<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tellebijeon<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), the bookcase (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ucc45\uc7a5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">chaekjang<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and maybe even a dining table (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc2dd\ud0c1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">siktak<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) with chairs (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc758\uc790<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">euija<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the <\/span><b>kitchen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ubd80\uc5cc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">bueok<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc8fc\ubc29<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">jubang<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), we find various household appliances (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uae30\uae30<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">gigi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), such as the refrigerator (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub0c9\uc7a5\uace0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">naengjanggo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), the freezer (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub0c9\ub3d9\uace0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">naengdonggo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and, in particular, the fridge for kimchi (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uae40\uce58<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub0c9\uc7a5\uace0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">gimchi naengjanggo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and the rice cooker (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc804\uae30<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ubcf4\uc628\ubc25\ud1b5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">jeongi boonbaptong<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). The various cooking utensils (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub3c4\uad6c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">dogu<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) include saucepans (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub0c9\ube44<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, naengbi), frying pans (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ud504\ub77c\uc774\ud32c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">peuraipaen<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), bamboo basket for steaming (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ucc1c\ud1b5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">jjimtong<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), ladle (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uad6d\uc790<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">gukja<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), chopsticks (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc813\uac00\ub77d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">jeotgarak<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), spoon (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc21f\uac00\ub77d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sutgarak<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and scissors (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uac00\uc704<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">gawi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We now move on to the <\/span><b>bedroom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uce68\uc2e4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">chimsil<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). Not all houses have a bed in this room (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uce68\ub300<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">chimdae<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">); many still prefer to use the traditional<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gogonihon.com\/en\/blog\/sleeping-in-japan-the-traditional-japanese-futon-bed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">futon<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">yo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc694<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) in Korean. Both solutions, however, include bedding (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uce68\uad6c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">chimgu<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) consisting of a blanket (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc774\ubd88<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ibul<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and pillow (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ubca0\uac1c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">begae<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). Also in this room, we find a wardrobe wardrobe (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc637\uc7a5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> otjang<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and a mirror (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uac70\uc6b8<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">geoul<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finally, we come to the <\/span><b>bathroom<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ud654\uc7a5\uc2e4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">hwajangsil<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). Here we find a toilet (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ubcc0\uae30<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">byeongi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), shower (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc0e4\uc6cc<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">syawo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and washbasin (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc138\uba74\uae30<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">semyeongi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), appliances such as a hairdryer (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ud5e4\uc5b4\ub4dc\ub77c\uc774\uc5b4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">heeodeuraieo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), washing machine (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc138\ud0c1\uae30<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">setakgi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), dryer (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uac74\uc870\uae30<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">geonjogi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and shaving razor (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uba74\ub3c4\uae30<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">myeondogi<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and items such as towel (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc218\uac74<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sugeon<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">),<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gogohanguk.com\/it\/blog\/curiosita-prodotti-cosmetici-e-make-up-coreano\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cosmetics<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ud654\uc7a5<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">hwajang<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), comb (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ube57<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, bit), toothbrush (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uce6b\uc194<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">chitsol<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) and toothpaste (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uce58\uc57d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">chiyak<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25317\" src=\"https:\/\/gogohanguk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Lavatrice-Corea.png\" alt=\"Microwave in Korea\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2><b>Korean expressions to use at home<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to the expressions seen above, <\/span><b>when leaving and returning home in Korea<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, it is customary to greet people with special expressions. When you go out, you use &#8216;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub2e4\ub140\uc624\uaca0\uc2b5\ub2c8\ub2e4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8216; (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">danyeo-ogesseumnida<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), which literally means &#8216;I hang out (implying a certain place) and then come back&#8217;. On the other hand, when one returns home, instead of a simple greeting, one announces oneself by saying &#8216;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub3cc\uc544\uc654\uc2b5\ub2c8\ub2e4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8216; (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">dorawasseumnida<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), which literally means &#8216;I&#8217;m back&#8217;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the other hand, those who stay at home, <\/span><b>in order to greet the person who is leaving<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, may say &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc798<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uac00<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8221; (jal ga) or &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc798<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub2e4\ub140\uc640<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8221; (jal danyeowa), which literally mean &#8220;go well\/go out well&#8221; and &#8220;hang out well and come back&#8221;. Obviously said in this way, these phrases may sound a bit weird, but they are simply typical forms of<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gogohanguk.com\/en\/blog\/how-to-say-hello-in-korean\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">greetings<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to be used in these contexts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another useful expression to use at home is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc798<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uba39\uaca0\uc2b5\ub2c8\ub2e4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (jal meokgesseumnida) which literally means &#8220;<\/span><b>I will eat well<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;. On the one hand it expresses gratitude on the part of the person receiving food towards the person who prepared it, a way of reassuring them that it will not go to waste. On the other hand, it expresses happiness on the part of the person who prepared it towards the other diners for eating that meal together. Alternatively, for those who do not eat but still want to wish others a good meal can say phrases such as &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub2e4<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uba39\uc5b4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8221; (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">da meogeo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ub9ce\uc774<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uba39\uc5b4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8221; (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">manhi meogeo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) or simply &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc798<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uba39\uc5b4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8221; (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">jal meogeo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), which respectively mean &#8220;eat it all&#8221;, &#8220;eat a lot&#8221; and &#8220;eat well&#8221;.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finally, it can be useful to know how to say <\/span><b>good night<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to others. Again, the expression is formed with the adverb &#8216;well&#8217; and literally means &#8216;sleep well&#8217; (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc798<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc790<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> jal ja<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). Alternatively, one can also use <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ud479<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\uc26c\uc5b4<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">puk swieo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), which means &#8216;rest fully&#8217;.
