1. Happy Chowon Farm (해피초원목장)

Happy Chowon Farm is located in Chuncheon, and offers many recreational activities! Visitors can interact with farm animals by feeding rabbits, riding donkeys, or taking photos with these animals at the ranch. Happy Chowon Farm also has a designated place to take Instagrammable pictures at the ‘Happy Meadow Ranch Photo Zone’ where the environment resembles the nature in Switzerland. Definitely one of the must-visit getaways in Chuncheon!

Did you know that BTS’s V & J-Hope visited the place during the filming of their variety show, ‘BTS in the Soop’ season 1? It seems that they tried the Hanwoo burger served at the Happy Meadow Ranch Cafe. For the Armys (BTS’s Fans), now you can participate in the Hanwoo Burger Making Experience Program and make this one of your most memorable getaways in Chuncheon!

  • Go to Dong Seoul Bus Terminal or Seoul Express Bus Terminal & take a Bus heading to Chuncheon Bus Terminal.
  • Walk out of exit 1, walk to the nearest bus station and take village bus 301 or 302 to Happy Chowon Farm.

2. Mullegil Trail (물레길)

One of the more experiential getaways in Chuncheon is the Mullegil Trail! Mul (물) translates to ‘water’ and Gil (길) translates to ‘road’, putting both together, it refers to ‘water road’ which also refers to the beautiful lake city located in Chuncheon. The Mullegil Trail offers tourists a unique canoe experience while having the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the waterway.

The main canoe activities include the Mullegil Basic Canoe Tour, Mullegil Healing Canoe Tour, Group Recreation Canoeing, Free Canoeing (rental service) and intermediate Canoeing experience. If you’re not interested in Canoeing, there are also other activities like visiting the Canoe Mini Museum and Songam Sports Facility, and riding bikes at Mullegil!

  • Go to Dong Seoul Bus Terminal or Seoul Express Bus Terminal & take a Bus heading to Chuncheon Bus Terminal.
  • From the Bus Terminal, take village bus 16 or 16-1 to Songam district (송암동).
  • Walk around 10 minutes to Mullegil Trail (물레길).

3. Seomyeonnugak (서면누각)

Seomyeonnugak is a lakeside restaurant cum cafe that boasts a beautiful outdoor scenery as well as a cozy nature-like interior. The cafe serves a menu like curry pasta, fried chicken with curry, assorted Tteokbokki and fried finger food. One of its famous menus is its handmade pies that come in various flavors like sweet potato, apple, potato, cream cheese and blueberry!

Not only do they have a unique food menu but they also offer an extensive beverage menu too. If you’re someone who likes nature and enjoys chilling at a quiet cafe for getaways in Chuncheon, this is the place you must visit! They are open daily from 11 am to 6 pm (except for public holidays).

  • Go to Dong Seoul Bus Terminal or Seoul Express Bus Terminal & take a Bus heading to Chuncheon Bus Terminal.
  • From the Bus Terminal, walk about 10 minutes to Chuncheon Nonghyup Bank (춘천농협). The bus station is in front of the bank & take bus 301 or 302.
  • Alight at Bangdongri (방동리입구) station and walk 3 minutes to Seomyeonnugak (서면누각).

4. Cafe Island (카페아일랜드)

Another one of the wonderful getaways in Chuncheon is visiting Cafe Island located in Chuncheon. It is a place where it offers a scenic environment of the surrounding natural landscape and a relaxing atmosphere perfect for visitors to unwind while enjoying coffee and some desserts.

If you prefer to enjoy a more adventurous activity for your getaways in Chuncheon, Cafe Island also has some water sports facilities like wakeboarding or jet skiing! Alternatively, you may also take a short hike up to Bungeoseom Island (붕어섬) where you will be admiring the breathtaking view of Chuncheon.

  • From the Bus Terminal, walk about 13 minutes to Namchuncheon station exit 2 (남춘천역 2번출구) & take bus 16 or 16-1.
  • Alight in front of Legoland (레고랜드) & walk 15 minutes to Cafe Island (카페아일랜드).

5. Soyanggang Skywalk (소양강스카이워크)

Last on our list of the top 5 getaways in Chuncheon, is the Soyanggang Skywalk! The main attraction at this place is the Glass Skywalk which is an exhilarating experience that features a glass floor section where visitors can look down at the landscape below.

The Skywalk also has an observation deck which is famous for its panoramic views as it offers breathtaking views of the Soyang River and surrounding landscapes. Imagine taking photos here during sunset, it is such an amazing way to make a collection of your getaways in Chuncheon!
