Once a year, cherry blossoms bloom in South Korea. The land of the morning calm turns pink from all the beautiful cherry blossom trees! During this time of spring, people seek out the best roads, parks, and even cherry blossom themed products! For some, spring is considered the prettiest season in Korea. Here are some of the best places to see cherry blossoms in Korea!

Yeouido Park

Yeouido Park is known to be the best spot to enjoy the cherry blossoms in Korea if you’re visiting Seoul! It’s famous for its annual spring flower festival, on Yeouiseo-ro (also called Yunjung-no). If you plan on going to Yeouido Park in spring, make sure to check out the dates for the festival!

Seokchon lake

Walking around the Seokchon lake during spring is a wonderful sight! This place also holds an annual Cherry Blossom festival! If you happen to miss the festival, there are a lot of other activities in this area. After a stroll by the lake, you could go up the tallest building in Korea – The Lotte World Tower. Or spend the rest of the day at Lotte World Theme Park!

Seoul Forest

Seoul Forest is a large park popular with the locals during spring. This place is less crowded but has a lot of different paths and large cherry blossom trees. Bring a picnic and come here for a more relaxed flower viewing experience.

Jinhae Gunhangje Cherry Blossom Festival

If you’re looking for a beautiful location where to see cherry blossoms in Korea, Jinhae Gunhangje Festival offers Korea’s biggest spring festival! Around 2 million people visit Jinhae each year for the festival.  There are lots of things to see and do. One of the most popular attractions is the so-called “Romance Bridge” over Yeojwacheon stream, it got its name after being the shooting location of the K-drama “Romance” in 2002.

Other fun activities include taking beautiful photos by the Gyeonghwa Station in Jinhae, trying spring-themed foods and drinks, as well as enjoying the light festival at night!

Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Festival and Cherry Marathon

Gyeongju is known for its many historic areas as well as having a cherry blossom festival and an annual Cherry Marathon! The Cherry Marathon has grown in popularity over the years making it an international event! If you want to run along with pink blossoms, this marathon will be perfect for you! Nami Island

The most romantic spot to see the cherry blossoms in Korea would definitely be Nami Island! This small island located in Chuncheon, is a popular tourist attraction all year around. Visitors have the choice to take a ferry or zip line into Nami island. What’s left to do after that is a long stroll along the tree-lined roads with your loved one while taking pictures and enjoying the nature. Scenes from the famous K-drama Winter Sonata were also filmed here.

When Spring is just about to hit Korea, a lot of cafes, convenience stores, and other shops prepare cherry blossom themed foods and items! Some things are limited editions while other items return the next year if popular enough. Pink frappuccinos, shakes, cakes, bread, and popcorn can be seen here and there. Beautiful designed tumblers, plates and many other home interior pieces can be shopped for during spring in Korea.
