What are the 6 ways to spend Christmas holidays in Seoul?

1. The Hyundai Seoul’s Le Grand Theatre

Every year, department stores in Korea really embrace the Christmas spirit with extravagant decorations! Specifically, the countryโ€™s top three department store chainsโ€”Hyundai, Shinsegae, and Lotteโ€”unveil large-scale, creative displays each year, highlighting their impressive flair for festive design.

At Christmas time, The Hyundai Seoul, a luxury department store in the Yeouido district of Seoul, transforms into a winter wonderland, with stunning decorations and festive displays that turn the shopping experience into a truly enchanting affair. This yearโ€™s concept is called the โ€œLe Grand Theatreโ€ and the decor consists of over 10,000 lights and 11 circus theatre tents. The main highlight of the village is the 8-meter-high rotating Christmas tree located in the grand theatre.

To make a reservation for entry, make your way to the 5th-floor Christmas Village entrance and find a staff member for assistance. Please inform the staff of your group size, and they will issue a waiting card with your designated entry time. Present the card at the specified time to gain entry. However, if the daily entry capacity is reached, entry may not be possible. Before the event ends on 31 December 2024, head down to the mall to spend your perfect Christmas holidays in Seoul! For more information, visit the event page here.

Besides the winter wonderland, there are also plenty of reasons to visit The Hyundai Seoul. It is home to a wide range of modern and contemporary fashion brands, home living stores, character shops, cosmetic boutiques, and restaurants offering delicious international cuisine. Even if you’re unable to enter the Christmas Village, you can still enjoy a panoramic view of the entire area from the food court on the sixth floor.

Are you planning for the winter or Christmas holidays in Seoul? Visit Shinsegae! Like the other two, Shinsegae also presents grandeur decorations this year. The space is beautifully decorated with festive Christmas lights and decorations, featuring ten shops offering a variety of holiday items. Additionally, a large Christmas tree is displayed on the first floor of Central City, which is connected to the department store. Be ready to immerse yourself in the festive mood this winter!

To provide an even more immersive experience for visitors, Shinsegae prepared a special vintage newspaper frame photo booth, available until November 28, followed by Sihyunhadaโ€™s Christmas-themed four-cut photo booth from November 29 to December 25.
